We’re delighted to announce that our Head of Player & Coach Development, Adam Clark, has been announced as the new manager of Wessex Premier League side, Alresford Town.
Plying their trade at Step 5 of the football pyramid, Alresford Town are a part time team that train twice a week, with games on a Saturday and some Tuesday’s. The club can be found tucked away, just the other side of Alton, over the Hampshire border.
Adam said; “I’m delighted to be back in football and at a club I know quite well, in Alresford Town. After speaking to the staff, committee, and chairman it’s clear to see they have clear ambitions which will allow me to progress the team and as a manager. I watched a recent performance and although it finished in defeat, I feel there is plenty to work with which will allow us to climb up the table”.
“The games are coming thick and fast now, so it will allow me to get a fair assessment of where the team is at and what we need to improve on. I’ll now be working hard on continuing Danny’s fantastic work previously and that of his staff. I’m looking forward to meeting the squad and getting underway at Bournemouth Poppies on Saturday”.
A Club statement read; “Clark is a master of his trade holding a UEFA A License and has spent many hours in his development through work experience and study visits at some of the top clubs throughout Europe. Additionally, Clark has experience internationally as the first team coach at Academy Sports Club in the Cayman Islands where he led the club to its highest finish in the league of 3rd place during the 2017/18 season, along side reaching the final of the national cup competition”.
“Adam ticked all the boxes we established when looking for someone to replace Danny. He will be able to step in and continue the hard work everyone has put into the club over the past years and offer great experience through his past management and coaching roles”.
“Adam has shown a dedication and commitment to his own development as a coach by putting himself in learning situations over the years. He is exactly the person we were looking for to lead the club and continue developing our players and football club.”
We would like to wish Adam, the best of luck in his new role!
