Guest Announcement

After last week’s news of our first guest announcement, we’re delighted to announce our 2nd guest, for the Easter Football Course.

Ex-Reading attacker, Nicholas Bignall, will be joining us for a Q and A session, as well as outlining his journey into the professional game. Unfortunately, Bignall suffered a serious injury that ended his career, but he had many great experiences up to that point, playing for a number of league clubs.

Interestingly, Bignall got scouted at a young age, but didn’t actually sign for Reading until he was a little older. He’ll be explaining as to why this happened and the process he went through, when he visits us. Again, he was playing grassroots football, starting in the Park and made it as a pro’.

Adam said, “I’ve known Nicholas for some time and he’s still a great professional to this day. I’m sure he’ll have some great advice for all the players and tips to improve their game. I’m delighted he’s coming in and joining what promises to be a great week”.

If you would like to attend the course, spaces are limited so register now via our, ‘Holiday Courses’ option, found under the, ‘For the Player’ tab.

We’re delighted to confirm the first guest for our Easter Football Course, taking place at Wildmoor Heath School in Crowthorne.
Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper, Roco Rees will be joining us for a Q & A session, as well as offering advice to our upcoming footballers.

Park to Pro owner, Adam Clark, said, “I’m delighted to confirm Roco’s attendance, on our Easter Football Course. He started his journey at grassroots football and has been in the academy system ever since. Upon signing his first professional contract last year, he has been in and around the first team and is true example of hard work paying off. Roco symbolises what our purpose as a company is, in getting players from Park to Pro”.

There will be further guests announced in the coming days, via our social media platforms.

Coach Mentorship update

Coach Mentorship update

In November, 8 coaches started the Park to Pro football coach mentorship programme, which has been an ongoing success.
Throughout the course there has been 1 topic per month delivered to delegates, with a live interactive session after this, to discuss things further.

Park to Pro owner, Adam Clark, said; “The delegates have been excellent throughout and have improved during the process. During the bleakest months of lockdown, we continued to meet virtually and discuss all things football. It was great to keep these discussions going and to keep improving, for the anticipation of football returning.”

The delegates have studied the theory side of football, as well as taking part in some analysis exercises. By changing the topic each month, the aim is to keep interest levels high and further learning across many areas of the game.

So far there have been 2 guest appearances for the coaches to learn from and to ask questions too. We’ve had a former English FA Coach Educator in attendance, as well as a coach/analyst from the Portuguese Primeira Liga (Portugal’s top flight league). Up next we have a coach joining us who currently works with a neighbouring national team.

The course is now at it’s mid-point with further updates released soon!

Football is (nearly) back!

With the return of football due, we thought it would be a good time to update you all on a number of things at Park to Pro.

Our Head of Player and Coach Development, Adam Clark, has now passed his UEFA A License, which is excellent news. He can’t wait to get back to training and start to share all of his new knowledge, that he’s acquired.
There will be a new coach joining the set up (news released soon), along with an additional session….
This season hasn’t really gone to plan thus far, so we will make the remainder as enjoyable as possible. Plans for next season are already in full flow, with news being released in the spring.

Off the field the Park to Pro Coach Mentorship Programme is improving by the month and there will be an update (with a video) released next week, so stay tuned for that!

We’re excited to see all of the players again, along with some new additions. If you would like further information on joining the set up, please look at our, ‘Training Centre Information’, found under the, ‘For the Player’ tab.

We will see you at the pitch, very soon!
